Daily Word Prompt: My Melody

The sound of the trees blowing in the wind 

The rhythmic sound of my heart beating

I feel most at peace when I’m by the sea

The sound of the waves crashing against itself

Like an epiphanic discovery about myself

I live life on my own accord

Not to the beat of someone else’s drum

I dance to a beat only I can hear

One only I can feel 

Flowing through my veins

Rushing through the valves of my heart

It keeps me alive

Knowing who I am inside

Change has the same old melody

But now I’m singing a different song.
